It happens whether with or without a plan but definitely need our concern to handle. In the case of organization, most of the changes were carefully planned, however, how well planned is the changes, it will still needs a lot of time to be accepted. This is of course due to the reason that changes involve people in the organization either to change their culture, behavior or the job scope. Change management is one of changes would normally happen in organization due to several reasons which we will discuss further. Studies have shown that the human element plays an important role in an organization as introduce major changes in the organization can created turmoil among employee (Galbreath & Rogers, 1999). Therefore, the organization will entail change in all aspects in the organization including job scope, role, title, organization structure, decision-making processes, work dynamics, skills set acquisition and even work culture (Mohammad Rais & Nazariah, 2003).

OT DI MALAYSIA

“… As a newly qualified Occupational Therapist in 1956, I was privilege to come to live in Malaysia (Malaya) as a new bride. After a short period of learning to live in tropical climate, to converse in a language that I had previously only seen as written text in books and to eat chili and spicy food, I started to look for employment. The problem for me was that the practical Occupational Therapy experience that I had gained as a student was inadequate and seemingly irrelevant for the task of setting up a rehabilitation unit for people with leprosy. So before tackling this task Dr David Molesworth, who was the Medical Superintendent (Pusat Kusta Negara) at that time, and I had to reflect carefully on the presenting problems and find some acceptable solutions…” Barbara Tyldesley (1995)
